Module Eight
Recording Live Instruments

Digital technology shows up any minor discrepancies in the
recording and a good or bad vocal or drum sound for example can make or break a finished product.

Using the correct microphone, the right amount of compression or parametric EQ will influence the quality of the final recording
(or live sound at a gig if your ambition is to be a venue sound engineer).

In this module you will look at the theories in recording drums, guitars, vocals, keyboards & the spoken voice. You will also look at the uses of DI boxes, foldback, talkback, subgroups, FX & EQ
when recording live sounds.
