Module Two
MIDI, Keyboards, Modules and Soundcards

This module deals with hardware & software side of the studio
and how the messages flow between the various pieces of
equipment.

We will teach you about MIDI, the messages, ports, connections,
types of data, controllers, receivers and the relationship MIDI has
with external pieces of equipment, soundcards and software
instruments (VST/Audio instruments) EXS-24, ES-1, Halion,
‘Reason’.

We'll take you through the different parameters involved in using keyboards & soundcards, for example GM, multi-timbral,
polyphonic, RAM, and ROM, Patches, timbres & tones.
